The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has rejected several recent UVA proposals for failing to meet application requirements related to activities conducted outside of the United States or projects involving international collaboration.
On April 25, NIH released a reminder to the U.S. research community about the following "long-standing" requirements:
- Stating whether projects involve activities outside of the U.S. or partnerships with international collaborators on the SF-424 R&R Other Project Information Form.
- If "Yes", including a "Foreign Justification" attachment in Field 12, Other Attachments.
Please carefully review all proposals for NIH funding to check for any international activities or collaboration with international partners to decrease chances of rejection.
See the related NIH Guide Notice for more details about the requirements.
